PROSOFT PLX51-PBM PROFIBUS DP MASTER / SLAVE GATEWAY

The PLX51-PBM is a protocol gateway designed to connect PROFIBUS DP networks with EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP and Modbus Serial systems. The PROFIBUS interface can operate as either a Master or Slave, giving the gateway flexibility for different industrial network architectures.

For Rockwell Automation Logix applications, the gateway supports EtherNet/IP Adapter functionality and can generate Add-On Instructions from the configured PROFIBUS network. This provides a practical path for bringing existing PROFIBUS devices into Ethernet-based control architectures.

The PROFIBUS interface supports DPV0 cyclic communication and DPV1 Class 1 and Class 2 services. The selectable Master or Slave role allows the gateway to fit different PROFIBUS network structures.

PLX51-PBM operates as an EtherNet/IP Adapter and supports up to four Class 1 I/O connections, with up to 1536 bytes of input data and 1536 bytes of output data.

Modbus TCP/IP can operate in Client or Server modes. Modbus Serial communication supports Master or Slave operation through RS232 or RS485 connectivity.

PROFIBUS device discovery, network status functions and packet capture capabilities provide useful tools when commissioning a new installation or investigating communication problems.

The compact DIN-rail gateway is designed for industrial control cabinets where protocol conversion, network integration and serviceability are important.
