Description

The GU-D15 80173-110-01 is a compact “gate-commutated turn-off” board that mounts inside Allen-Bradley 1336S, 1336E or similar medium-voltage drives. Its only job is to switch the gate of a single SGCT device ON and OFF in micro-seconds, giving the drive the fast, safe “disabling” pulse it needs when the control logic detects an over-current or DC-bus fault. Because the board carries its own isolated 24 V logic supply and fibre-optic receiver, you can swap it without shutting down the whole inverter frame—just open the door, pop the old board off the plastic stand-offs, and click the new one in.

Features

*Plug-and-play replacement – same part number, fibre-optic plug and gate connector as the original; no parameter changes or scope tuning required after the swap.

*Fast turn-off pulse – <1 µs total delay from light-pulse to gate-drive, keeping the SGCT well inside its 5 µs short-circuit survival window.

*24 V DC on-board power with 2 kV isolation – lets you change the board while the bus is hot and protects the control chassis from any power-device kick-back.

*Ruggedised for drives – conformal-coated, –20 °C…+70 °C rated, and qualified for 2 g vibration; listed on the Allen-Bradley 1336S spare-parts roster, so MTBF and agency approvals stay intact.
