Descripution
The Allen-Bradley 1746-IO12 is a combination Input / Output module that belongs to the SLC 500 controller platform.
This module is a single slot module that directly installs to the SLC 500 chassis. It has Six (6) 120 VAC inputs and Six (6) Form A contact output (Normally Open). This module is a cost-effective component as it allows chassis slot and panel slot saving through the module’s dual operation capability.
The input functionality of this voltage is similar to the 1746-IA16 module that accepts voltage range of 85-132 VAC. However, it has lesser number of inputs. The Relay output of this module is comparable to the 1746-IO8 or 1746-IO4, having more relay outputs compared to the 1746-IO4 and lesser outputs compared to 1746-IO8.
Similar to other SLC 500 modules, this combination module may also be mixed with other modules of the SLC 500 product family and be placed in expansion or local chassis except the slot dedicated for the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) processor.
The module’s operation may be degraded when exposed to chemicals. Regular maintenance and loop validation are recommended to determine if the module’s operation remains within the acceptable operating limits and process reaction. If a significant degradation is found, the module may be replaced with the same part-number without any reconfiguration needed however, only replace modules without an active supply power.
