HIMA Planar System F Safety-Related Amplifiers
Safety-Related Amplifiers are designed for use in safety-critical control systems, where reliable signal processing and fail-safe operation are essential. These modules convert and amplify field input signals while ensuring that the system maintains a predefined safe state in the event of a fault. They are suitable for applications requiring high functional safety, such as emergency shutdown (ESD), burner management systems (BMS), and process safety instrumentation.
The safety-related modules in the Planar System F generally comply with Requirement Class 6 according to DIN V 19250, unless otherwise specified in the corresponding data sheet. They are identified by a yellow module label and a dedicated safety symbol in the catalogue. Their power output stages are galvanically isolated and regulate the output voltage to the nominal value across a 0–100% load range, making them suitable for driving solenoid valves with strict voltage tolerance requirements. TÜV safety certification is available for applicable modules used in safety-related control systems.

Modules of the HIMA Planar System F
Basis of the modules are printed circuit boards according to DIN IEC 326 (160 ´ 100 mm), made from glassfibre reinforced epoxy resin. In order to protect them against aggressive atmosphere the tracks are tin-plated or coated with a solder resist lacquer.
