Check the 35 mm module width, 24 V DC supply, selected front connector, shielding hardware, signal range and load connection before mounting.
02
Commissioning Control
Configure voltage or current operation per channel, apply diagnostics and substitute values, then test low, midpoint and high commands with the real field load.
03
Lifecycle Review
The module is currently an active product. Maintenance planning should still record hardware status, firmware, connector type, configured ranges and cabinet position.
04
Replacement Assessment
A replacement is acceptable only after checking channel count, ranges, resolution, accuracy, cycle behavior, channel grouping, diagnostics, wiring and project configuration.
INSTALLATION
Install the Hardware Around the Signal — Not the Other Way Around
1. Prepare the assembly
The infeed element, shielding bracket and shield terminal accompany the module. Order the screw-terminal or push-in front connector separately.
2. Plan the supply
Use 24 V DC within 19.2–28.8 V. Maximum current consumption is 190 mA at 24 V DC. Reverse-polarity protection is provided.
3. Select the channel mode
Match each output to the connected actuator or converter: voltage or current, bipolar or unipolar, with the correct configured range.
4. Choose 2-wire or 4-wire voltage wiring
A 2-wire voltage connection uses a jumper at the front connector and does not compensate line resistance. A 4-wire connection supports compensation.
5. Route and terminate shields
Keep analog conductors separated from switching and motor cables. Use the shielding components to create a controlled path for interference.
6. Test under load
Verify polarity and range, then command safe low, midpoint and high values. Confirm the actual voltage or loop current at the connected equipment.

LIFECYCLE
Active Today Does Not Mean “No Planning Required”
The current lifecycle status is active. That supports ongoing use, but a resilient maintenance strategy still captures the exact installed condition so that a future change does not begin with guesswork.
Record Complete article number and hardware status
Capture Firmware, configuration and channel ranges
Preserve Connector type, wiring and shield layout
Review Availability before planned shutdowns
REPLACEMENT STRATEGY
No Alternate Model Should Be Treated as Plug-and-Play Without a Full Check
A different SM 532 module may provide more channels, faster operation or another performance class, but those differences can affect the project configuration, front connector, wiring, load behavior and available functions.
Electrical match Voltage/current ranges, permitted load, supply voltage, short-circuit behavior and channel grouping
Mechanical match Module width, front connector, shielding accessories, terminal assignment and cabinet clearance
Project match TIA Portal compatibility, configured hardware, addresses, diagnostics and substitute-value behavior
For a like-for-like maintenance replacement, use the same complete article number whenever the existing engineering arrangement must remain unchanged.
FAQ
Questions Maintenance and Purchasing Teams Commonly Ask
01
Is 6ES7532-5HD00-0AB0 still active? Yes. Its current lifecycle status is active. Availability should still be checked against the required delivery schedule.
02
Is the front connector supplied with 6ES7532-5HD00-0AB0? No. Select and order the required screw-terminal or push-in front connector separately. The infeed and shielding components accompany the module.
03
Can 6ES7532-5HD00-0AB0 replace any four-channel S7-1500 analog output? No. Compare the complete article number, channel ranges, resolution, cycle behavior, wiring, connector and project configuration before replacement.
04
Can its voltage outputs use 2-wire and 4-wire connections? Yes. The 2-wire arrangement does not compensate for line resistance; the 4-wire arrangement supports compensation and should be considered when voltage drop matters.
05
Is 6ES7532-5HD00-0AB0 a fail-safe analog output? No. It supports safety-oriented shutdown of load groups up to SIL 2 and Category 2 / PL c within the intended architecture, but it is not an F analog-output module with four independently safety-rated channels.
06
What should be sent with a quotation request? Provide the complete article number, quantity, installed hardware status, required connector type, destination and whether the request is for like-for-like maintenance or a redesigned application.
